How to Create and Edit a Training Program

Training programs are at the heart of moving the needle in assisting under-resourced communities to develop their career skills, digital literacy, workforce readiness, and much more. RiseKit provides a dedicated space to upload new resources for your internal teams or to be shared throughout the RiseKit network.

To access the Training Program section of the Resources page do the following

Login to your RiseKit account at Staff Portal
Move your mouse toward the left-hand navigation.
You should see links that show the following options
Home
Chat
Pathways
Directory
Resources
Click on "Resources"
At the top of the page you will see Support Services, Training Programs, Job Opportunities, and Events. Make sure to select Training Program, this will take you to a list of resources that have either been created by your internal teams or shared across the RiseKit Network.

Creating a new Training Program


Creating a Training Program is incredibly simple with RiseKit. Follow the steps below to add Training Program.

On the Training Program tab on the resource page, click the + Add Link button on the top right corner.

You should see a modal appear that will guide you through the step-by-step process of adding a new Training Program.


Creating a link entry


Step 1: Add the requested information on the first page, then choose Next Step

The following fields are required:
URL/Direct Link: This a link to the Training Program. This can be a link to a description of the Training Program, the application page for the Training Program, or a flyer about the Training Program.
Custom Link Title: This is the name of the Training Program. Include the Organization offering the Training Program as well las the name of the Training Program. Example: ACME Corporation: Free Basic and Advanced Microsoft Word Training
Link Description: Include some key information about the Training Program to provide participants with information about the program. For example, include Hours of Operation, Age Requirements, Training Offered. Example: Three month, in person, Microsoft Certification Course. Call 555-555-5555 to make an appointment for an interview. Must be a SNAP recipient to qualify.
Expire Date: If this Training Program has an end date or due date, include that here. If this Job Training is available indefinitely, leave this blank.
Location: Select whether the Training Program is offered REMOTELY or ONSITE. If the Training Program is onsite, include the address by typing it into the Address box.
Criminal Record Friendly: Select whether this Training Program is open to applicants with criminal records. If unknown, select N/A.

Step 2: Training Program Details. Add additional Training Program Details, then choose Next Step

Only Associated Organization, Resume Support, and Tuition Cost are required fields. Additional details on this page are optional. However, entering the specific details of the training program will, overtime, help RiseKit match and recommend candidates to your training program automatically.

Associated Organization: Type in the name of the organization hosting the Event. This may be the name of your organization or a partner organization holding the Event.
Industry/Industries (optional): Select these from a drop down for specific relevant industries. You can select more than one, choose the industry then choose Add Industry and repeat as many times as is needed for all relevant industries.
Job Roles Training (optional): Select these from a drop down for specific job roles. You can select more than one, choose the job role then choose Add Job Role and repeat as many times as is needed for all relevant job roles.
Eligible Zip Codes (optional): Select specific zip codes eligible for this Training Program or select All Zip Codes Welcome to Apply. You can select more than one, choose the zip code then choose Add Zip Code and repeat as many times as is needed for all eligible zip codes.
Eligible Age Range (optional): Select specific age range eligible for this Training Program or select All Ages Welcome to Apply.
Eligible Genders (optional): Select specific gender eligible for this Training Program or select All Genders Welcome to Apply.
Eligible Ethnicities (optional): Select specific ethnicities eligible for this Training Program or select All Ethnicities Welcome to Apply.
Resume Support: Choose whether this Training Program offers resume support
Tuition Cost: Choose whether this Training Program is Free or has a tuition (paid). If it has tuition, include this cost amount.

Industry, Job Roles, and Zip Code selections are located in the dropdown. You may type a keyword into the dropdown to narrow down your results.

Choose Share with Entire Network and then select Publish Link Entry


Editing a Training Program


To edit a Training Program that you have previously posted, follow the steps above to get to the Training Program section. Here you can search for the Training Program you need to edit by keyword as well as sort by date the Training Program was posted or filter by industry, training role, zip code, tuition cost, age, gender, ethnicity, or other filters.

Note, if you did not create the Training Program, you will not have the ability to edit the Training Program. You can only edit Training Programs that you originally created.

Click View Details to open up the Training Program.



Select the Pencil Icon/Edit in the top right corner.



Navigate to the area where you need to edit the information using the Back or Next Steps buttons.


When you are done editing, choose Next Steps until you get to Step 3: Link Sharing Options and choose Update Link Entry
